Dakotaland Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Dane Dornbusch as Branch Manager of the Brookings location. Dornbusch assumed the Branch Manager responsibilities after past Manager, Gene Bjorklund, returned to the Dakotaland location in Volga. Excelling as a Business Loan Officer since joining Dakotaland in May of 2022, Dornbusch is a strong advocate for the credit union. “Dane’s experience in our Business Lending Department has made his transition to Branch Manager a productive one and his dedication to the membership has proven to be an overall benefit to the commitment we have made to the Brookings Area,” shared Chief Growth Officer, Chad Moller.

Dornbusch grew up in Howard, South Dakota and following high school graduation, attended South Dakota State University. Dane holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Business from SDSU and is also certified in Bloomberg Market Concepts. In 2023 he graduated from the Leadership Brookings program. “I am excited to be a part of the credit union’s leadership team. Dakotaland is a well-respected employer and an even more reputable financial institution who takes pride in serving its members,” claims Dornbusch.

Dane and his wife, Jenn, met while at SDSU and married this past fall. After a short stay in Minnesota, the couple returned to South Dakota where they currently reside on the edge of Brookings. The Dornbusch family recently expanded with the addition of a black lab puppy named Luna, who has redefined the definition of ‘busy’. In his free time, Dane can be found taking advantage of the South Dakota great outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing, and hiking.

Dakotaland Federal Credit Union has locations in Huron, Volga, Brookings, Madison, Redfield, Aberdeen, De Smet, Mitchell, Watertown, and Woonsocket. With over 40,000 member and $600 million in assets, Dakotaland continues to be locally owned and operated offering a full line of financial services to its membership since 1935.
