Madison, SD - January 10, 2018 Dakotaland Federal Credit Union has announced the addition of Joel Van Batavia to the Consumer Lending Team, stationed out of the Madison Branch. Van Batavia is new to the Interlakes Area and brings a solid financial background to the position. “Joel is a prime example of the talented staff the Credit Union has to offer. He is the right fit at the right time for us and we are excited to have his expertise on-hand as we continue to grow”, declared Madison Branch Manager, Michael DesLauriers.
Van Batavia spend the past 3 years with Wells Fargo in the consumer sales banking role and also as an Affluent Relationship Specialist. Joel has functioned in all aspects of personal banking from opening new accounts to managing loan applications. “I am beyond excited to be joining the DFCU team. In the short time I have been here, I have come to appreciate the culture of the Credit Union as a whole. I am super excited to continue meeting members and being a part of the Madison community everyday”, stated Van Batavia.
Joel is originally from Steen, MN, but recently made a commitment to Madison and purchased a home. He attended Hills-Beaver Creek High School and then Alexandria Technical and Community College, in Alexandria, MN. Van Batavia has a spring wedding date set with his fiancé, Courtney Sheppard and his soon to be stepson, Ryder (5). Also part of the family is their dog, Jake. Joel is a diehard Minnesota sports fan and really enjoys fishing. He also lends a hand to the many craft projects headed up by his fiancé and future mother in law.
