Get Pre–Qualified – Getting pre–qualified will give you the dollar range you need to work with. Keeping your project on budget will be one of the more challenging aspects of your new construction.

Contractors  Schedule – Contractors are rarely NOT busy. If you want to secure a reputable builder, it is a much better idea to get on a contractor’s schedule now, than to hope they can squeeze you in during the summer.

Bids & Floor Plans – Once you have settled on a floor plan, it’s time to get pricing. It is important to review these bids thoroughly to ensure everything is included. Missed items are one of the most common reasons for going over budget.

Lead Time – There are still some long lead times on certain materials and components. Keeping back orders and deliver delays in mind, you will want to place your material orders far enough in advance to avoid interruptions in your project.

Go Time – Fall is the best time to get everything in order so you are ready to roll when the frost leaves in the spring.
