Maddie Engen has chosen to extend her credit union and mortgage lending experience to the position of Branch Manager at the Watertown Branch location. Engen joined Dakotaland in 2019 and has become a recognized local lending leader of real estate financing in the Watertown area. “Promoting from within our organization is always a priority. Maddie has proven to be committed to our credit union members and to the growth and success of the community she serves. We feel her lending experience only strengthens her abilities as a Branch Manager,” commented Chad Moller, Chief Growth Officer.

Ms. Engen is a graduate of Minnesota State University and has called Watertown her home since 2009. The past several years as a Mortgage Loan Officer has proven to be challenging, but extremely rewarding for Maddie. “My time as a loan officer started with a huge learning curve, but I truly loved learning the process. Meeting the members and helping them through every step of the home buying process has made me love what I do,” shared Engen. In her new position as Branch Manager, Maddie will continue to be active in the mortgage department to ensure her members receive the level of service they have come to expect from Dakotaland.

As Manager, Maddie will be working with a strong team of staff members as they pull together to assist the Watertown location in its continued growth. “We are still fairly new to the community and there are so many people who are unfamiliar with the credit union difference and what we have to offer. I intend to focus on changing that fact as we move forward, “explained Engen.

Maddie admits she likes to travel, attend her kids’ various sporting events, and spend time outside. She serves on the board of the Watertown Kiwanis Club and the Watertown Development Company, as well as a member of the Lincoln Elementary PTO. Ms. Engen has a passion for hockey and serves as the Executive Director of the Watertown Hockey Association. She is a member of Cornerstone Church and a classroom volunteer for Junior Achievement. Maddie and her husband, Matt, are the proud parents of Jett (10), Piper (6), and their fur baby named Loki.

Dakotaland Federal Credit Union has locations in Huron, Volga, Brookings, Madison, Redfield, Aberdeen, De Smet, Mitchell, Watertown and Woonsocket. With 40,000 members and $500 million in assets, Dakotaland continues to be locally owned and operated offering a full-line of financial services to its membership since 1935.
