Dakotaland recently hosted Member Fest in conjunction with the annual meeting on June 8th in Huron. This year was the first year we hosted the Member Fest and Annual meeting together at the new administration building, and the event was a great success with fun had by all.

Nearly 700 members attended the event, and we served pork sandwiches, pasta salad, bags of chips, and cookies for dinner. In addition to serving a meal, we offered a bouncy house, snow cones, popcorn, carnival games, face painting, prizes and balloon creations by Jeff Emmett. Each department hosted their own carnival game for kids and families to play, as well as a trivia questionnaire to learn more about each Dakotaland department. After playing all of the carnival games, kids could stop by the Dakotaland store to pick out a prize of their choosing. The Huron Youth Leadership group volunteered to serve snow cones, and we were able to raise over $800 for the Heartland United Way with free will donations. Jeff Emmett, the balloon man, entertained all members with his unique balloon creations and talents. There was something for all ages to enjoy, and our staff was pleased to host and interact with our members after hours.

The 87th Annual Meeting was held at 6:00pm upstairs at the Dakotaland administrative building, and there were 40 members and guests in attendance. Dakotaland FCU CEO, Ryan Goehner, reviewed the year and discussed the credit union’s goals for the future. We also re-elected Rachel Dix and Gayle Kludt to the Board of Directors for another three year term. We want to thank all staff and volunteers who helped make this event successful, as well as members who attended. Thank you for your support and membership at Dakotaland FCU.
